- Motion types
- keyframe animation: frame by frame
- Shape tweens: tweens shapes (as opposed to symbols, images, etc)
- Classic tween: Added after second keyframe is placed
- Motion Tween: Does not require a second keyframe as it generates automatically. (tries to follow the Photoshop and After Effects process of keyframing)
- Shape tweens
- function
- tweens shape objects
- can tween any number of objects on one layer (as long as they are shapes or drawing objects)
- can morph shapes as well
- limits
- doesn't work on movie clip symbols, images or text
- function
-
- Shapes can actually morp from one set of contours to another
- All shapes on a layer will morph to any shape or shapes on the next keyframe as long as they are shapes
- if there is another type of non-shape object then you will have a broken tween:
- Types of shape tweening:
- shape (created by drawing tools)
- motion across the stage
- scaling (hold down shift key while using free transform too)
- stretching
- opacity (on the color pallet Alpha %)
- color
- Shape tweens do not
- Have 3d capability or filters applied
- tween with a symbol or images
- work with interactivity
-
What happens when you accidently use a motion or classic tween?
- If you accidently add a classic tween the shape is automatically converted into a symbol and is no longer a shape
- What is a symbol?
- Like a smart-object in Photoshop it is a container that holds shapes, images and other symbols
- can only have classic or motion tweens
- can be viewed in the library and reused multiple times without increasing file size
- How do you fix the problem?
- Undo Cmd/cntrl Z
- if there is another type of non-shape object then you will have a broken tween:
