- Read the following two articles
- Now choose a client (or personal) and design a version that adheres to each concept in the 10 tips article as a guideline. Each one should be different and focus on each element. Be prepared to explain the design process including mockups:
- Use a Visual Double Entendre
- An effective color pallet
- Avoid a cliche
- Make it ownable
- Custom Type
- Simple
- Proportion and symmetry
- Use negative space
- Active
- It has meaning
- The final version should be in pdf format - with 10 different designs but the same organization. You may interpret these tips in different ways and I am more interested in the process. Be prepared to defend. Good effective examples will be presented in class.
- Draw out your ideas first...or use whatever tool your most comfortable with to brainstorm. It's not uncommon to have 10 or 20 versions before the final presented one.
- You are only required to use Illustrator for the final versions
- Feel free to use the presentation template. No messy layouts (will be graded)
- Due Thursday Feb 15 (presentation on Tuesday Feb 20)
