- Go through the installation process
- MAMP installs into your Applications folder and all your files will be stored in this location. (Consider this your server)
- Start the MAMP application by double clicking the MAMP icon in the MAMP folder and start servers
- Select the Preferences icon and choose the PHP tab and select version 5.6.1 (7 does not run the mysql module)
- Choose Open Web Startup page then go Tools =>phpMyAdmin
- Choose the import tab and browse for the Newland_tours.sql file and click "Go" at the bottom of the page
- In Dreamweaver create a new site and direct it to the htdocs folder in the MAMP folder
- In the servers section click the "+" button and in the "Connect using" drop-down choose local/network. In the next field use the finder to direct to the same htdocs folder and in the last field copy the URL: http://localhost:8888. save and close
- Go to Window=>Databases in the Dreamweaver main menu and click the "+" button and enter these values:
- Connection Name: Con_Newland
Mysql server: localhost
User: root
Password: root
Database: Choose the select button and choose Newland
- If you get a list of the databases then you did it correctly
