- create a new file 1440x987px at 72 ppi
- Name the first layer background
- convert background layer to smart object (from the upper right pallette menu)
- dbl click layer (make sure you double click the layer thumbnail )
- fill (Edit=>Fill) the stage with 50% grey
- set foreground color to black and background color to white
- filter>render>fibers (15 for variance, 10 for strength, randomize for a good blend - Avoid black or white blotches)
- filter>blur>motion blur (90 degrees, distance 200)
- unlock layer if necessary (click the padlock icon in the layers panel)
- free transform (Edit=>Free Transform or Cmd+T) fill in the values in the top options pallet width 200%, height 1600% (you may need to click the chain link symbol to unlock the aspect ratio)
- click the move tool and drag the object top to align with the doc top (you will need to zoom out significantly to accomplish this)
You also need to have "Show Transform Controls" turned on
- Open up the animations palette window>Timeline and choose video timeline
- twirl "background" (or layer 0) layer properties
click stopwatch on position layer to set keyframe
- drag the animation length and the time indicator to 10 seconds and then drag the graphic to align with the bottom (hold the shift key to make sure it animates straight up and down)
- close smart object widow Cmd/W And Save!
- add a new layer and fill it with a solid Blue color (foreground blue + Opt/delete) and screen blend mode
- choose background layer (or layer 0) and go to filter>distort>polar coordinates click "rectangular to polar" radio button click OK
- double click on little lines icon in the layers palette where the filter layer is under layer 0
- choose darken for the blend mode.
- Make sure Video Timeline is showing (you may have to click "Create video timeline" in the timeline panel and extend the all layers to ten seconds as well
- Click play on the animation timeline to test. (give it time to render first)
- file>export>render video rename (I call mine linesBG.mp4) and select location. Use default settings. Make sure the format is H.264 Make sure it's exported as .mp4
