- objects are versatile because after you create them you can reuse them in different contexts
- All the objects created and used belong to larger collective groups called classes.
- Flash provides certain premade classes like:
- Movie clips
- masks
- display objects
- For an object to have script applied it must be assigned a unique name. If you use the same name twice it will throw an error.
- Only MovieClip symbols can be objects
- All other elements (text, images, shapes) must be converted to MovieClips
- Graphic symbols don't work
- Select the MovieClip on stage and then name it in the properties panel:
*Note...no spaces, special characters except - and _
