- Reading: Chapter 8 Classroom in a book
- Create a new file
- 1008 x 672 pts with 3 artboards and CMYK color
- Make sure the the "arrange by colum" setting is checked after the artboard number.
- If you are using the new interface you access this by selecting the More Settings button
- Opt/Alt+Click in the very center with the rectangle tool and add these values: 908pt x 592pt
- Turn this shape into a custom guide View>Guides>Make Guides
- To create a title area on the front page, open rulers Cmd/Ctrl R and drag a guide from the top and let go. Reposition it to 100 pts exactly from the top (you may need to unlock guides View>Guides>Unlock Guides) and select the guide with the selection tool and postion Y in the control panel to 100 pts
(if your screen is small you'll need to click the word "Transform") create another guide 34 pts below:
- Cmd/Ctl X the original custom guide (the rectangle only) and then paste on all artboards Edit>Paste on all Artboards
- Lock the guides View>Guides>Lock Guides
- Name the layer "Guides" then create a new layer called "Text"
