Line Segment tool
hold the cursor down to view all line tools

Click the right verticle bar to detach
- Creates a staight line stroke - color and weight can be controlled by stroke box
- hold shift key to constrain angle
- hold alt key to draw from the center
- With tool selected hit enter/return or double click the tool to get dialog box to key in specific values
- Move tool
- Select an object then hit Return/Enter to bring up Move Dialog
- Enter coordinates to move specific location. Will allow copying.
- To edit lines use the black arrow tool
- Rotate
- resize
- Move (center point most efficient)
- Alt/Opt drag to duplicate | shift to align
- Edit the ends by opening the stroke dialog box
- Align stroke inside, outside or center
- Dotted lines
- Caps - Butted, Rounded, or projected
- lines can be joined to create shapes and fills - Cmd/Ctl J (Object>Path>Join)
- *Hide/show bounding box Cmd/Ctl B
- Fun tip - Cmd/Ctl D duplicates last copy/paste (alt drag) Great way to do multple patterns
- Smart guides turns on snapping alignment
- Adding lines or extending
- Deselect first line - hold Cmd/Ctl key will revert to black arrow tool then click on art board. Let go to draw second line
- Scissors tool (in the erasor tool dropdown) will cut segements...careful to select the right segment to delete.
- White arrow tool selects specific anchor points (shift click to select multiple)
- Other line tool:
- Arc tool - 1/4 elipses
- Shift key constrains
- Arrow key increase/decrease arch
- Spiral tool
- Arrow key increase/decrease number of spirals
- Grid tool to create grids
- Arrow key increases and decreases cells
- Create custom guides by going to view>guides>Make Guides
